Florian Foos

Post-Doctoral Researcher, University of Zurich

I am a post-doctoral researcher at the chair of Policy Analysis in the Department of Political Science at the University of Zurich. In spring 2013 I was a visiting scholar at the Department of Political Science at Columbia University in the City of New York. I hold a D.Phil and an M.Sc (with distinction) in Sociology from Nuffield College, the University of Oxford, and a BA in European Social and Political Studies from University College London.

I am a comparative behavioral scientist, and my research agenda focuses on the experimental and quasi-experimental study of election campaigns in partisan environments. Some of my research also attempts to identify bottom-up and top-down dynamics in multi-level democracies. Together with Elias Dinas (University of Oxford) I currently work on a research project that looks at how approval of EU institutions and national governments is influenced by fiscal constraints related to Monetary Union.
