Torsten Schmidt

Torsten Schmidt received a diploma in economics from the University of Göttingen in 1995 and a Ph. D. from the University of Zürich in 2000. In 1997 he took part in the course for beginning doctoral students at the Study centre of the Swiss National Bank in Gerzensee. Mr. Schmidt joined the business cycle division at RWI in 2000. Since 2005 he is deputy chief of the new established business cycle and growth division and part-time professor at the University of Applied Science, Pforzheim, Germany.
