Dr Ryan is currently a fellow at Centre for International Studies, London School of Economics and Political Science and was a fellow at the EU Integration section of the German Institute for International and Security Affairs, Berlin, Germany and Centre for Economic Policy Analysis, University of Venice.  Dr Ryan has held senior administrative and academic positions at various business schools such as German Graduate School of Management and Law, Cass Business School, European Business School and New York University. 

Dr Ryan has presented as a policy expert at high level conferences organised by Wilton Park, ASEF and the European Banking Association on the Eurozone Crisis, Global Currencies and Financial Regulation. Dr Ryan participated in invitation only conferences at Harvard University Weatherhead Center of International Studies, European Central Bank, Munich Economic Summit, Economic K�nigswinter�and BMW Foundation Berlin Forum.

Dr Ryan was a Fellow at the Centre for European Studies-Sciences Po Paris, CRG-Ecole Polytechnique Paris, Center for European Integration Studies, Bonn, CEPA, University of Venice.and Business Research Programmes-University College Dublin, Ireland.� John Ryan has worked at PA Consulting as the Director of the Euro Centre of Excellence in Dublin on the public and private Euro Changeover programmes.� 

Dr Ryan was educated at Oxford and Cambridge Universities, London School of Economics and Political Science and Kiel Institute of World Economics, Germany.
