Eva Ortega

Eva Ortega is a PhD in macroeconomics and econometrics from the European University Institute (Florence, Italy). In 1997 she joined the Research Department of the Bank of Spain. Then she moved to the Research Department of the Bank of Canada to head the division of Macroeconomic Studies. In 2005 she returned to the Bank of Spain to head its Modelling Unit. She was a member of the EABCN scientific committee during 2005-2009. Her work currently focusses on macroeconomic models and policies (she is co-Chair of the Working Group of Econometric Modelling of the European System of Central Banks) and on applied macro research, with recent publications on business cycles and monetary policy. She is currently the Research Coordinator of Banco de España.
