Stephen Millard

Senior Economist, Bank of England

Stephen Millard is a Senior Economist at the Bank of England, a Visiting Professor at the Durham University Business School and a member of the Centre for Macroeconomics. As part of the Bank’s ‘Research Steering Group’ his main role is to make a significant contribution to the Bank’s research objectives, in particular, leading the Bank's efforts to increase its engagement and collaboration with the wider academic community. He is based in the Structural Economic Analysis Division within Monetary Analysis, where he leads the Bank’s research in the areas of 'Understanding the modern economy', Inflation dynamics and Labour economics, helping to ensure that this research and analysis is disseminated to, and is useful for, the Monetary Policy Committee. He has a PhD from Northwestern University, where he studied with Nobel Laureate Dale Mortensen.
