Hosted by the Banca d'Italia in Rome on May 4th, 2026.
The European Central Bank, Banca d’Italia, EABCN and CEPR are organizing a one-day, in person workshop on recent advances in Digital Assets and Monetary Policy Transmission.
The workshop aims to explore how the emergence of digital assets and tokenized forms of money may influence the implementation of monetary policy and its transmission mechanisms. As financial systems become increasingly digitalized, instruments such as central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), private stablecoins, tokenized deposits and decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms may alter the mechanisms through which monetary policy affects financial markets and the broader economy.
