Luigi Federico Signorini (Deputy Director General, Banca d‘Italia) will talk about the impact of the downward trend in advanced countries' nominal interest rates and their impact on the measurement of the unobservable determinants of interest rates (inflation expectations, risk premia, natural interest rates), the assessment of the persistence of the causes of current exceptional circumstances, and the short- and long-term risks for price and financial stability.

The topic of the first week will be "Non-Parametric Bayesian Models for Big Data and Macro/Finance " by Prof. Tamara Broderick (MIT) and Prof. Joshua Chan (UTS) from July 10th to July 14th.

The 2018 SIDE Summer School of Econometrics will be held at the Bank of Italy SADIBA Center in Perugia. SIDE is the acronym for the Italian Econometric Association. Even this year the Summer School will be two-week long.

The topic of the first week will be " Text Analysis and Sentiment Analysis (TASA) with Applications to Finance " by Prof. Wolfgang Härdle (U. of Berlin) and Prof. Cathy Yi-Hsuan Chen (U. of Berlin) from July 16th to July 20th.
